Metro Exodus is bigger than 2033 and Last Light combined

4A Games has said previously that Metro Exodus will be more open than the previous games in the Metro series, but it won't be a completely open world like that of Stalker. For one thing, individual levels in Exodus will be much larger than anything seen in the previous games. The biggest outdoor level in Last Light was roughly "200 meters to 100 meters," Prokhorov said,. That means everything from weapons, attachments, and other loot, to "frozen stories" that reveal more about the game world and

Our first glimpse of the Monster Hunter film surprisingly isn’t terrible

The first on-set photographs of the upcoming Monster Hunter movie were alarming. It turns out those pictures showed the team of soldiers before they fall through a portal into the big monster dimension. I hope the movie leans in even more and commits to Monster Hunter's silliness. If the filmmakers have passed on the opportunity to include an extended Palico cooking montage then I will be sorely disappointed. Monster Hunter is out on September 4 2020.

The hardest thing you can do in a Fallout game is unexpected

Perhaps you’ve finished a Fallout game in Survival mode, or made it out alive in Dead Money. For ages now, there’s been something small about modern Fallout games that has bugged the hell out of me. Every so often, I’ll come across a Port-a-Diner vending machine with nothing but a slice of perfectly preserved pie. As the page explains it, even if you have extremely high luck, there’s still an overwhelming chance you won’t be able to get the pie. Here’s the formula, as explained by the Fallout Wi

Brutal Doom has a new trailer to celebrate the v21 Gold release

Brutal Doom v21 Gold came out in May of this year, but what it really needed to make that announcement memorable was a bold, blood-soaked trailer with a bangin' metal soundtrack. And now it has one. The Outer Worlds hands-on: The best RPG Bethesda never made

Dan McPhee, The Outer Worlds' Narrative Designer, explains why Obsidian decided to point the spotlight on consumer culture for this particular space western adventure. That scrappy, absurdist aura of comedy bleeds into The Outer Worlds' gameplay, too, especially with regards to its character progression system, made up primarily by Obsidian’s familiar system of perks and flaws. In that sense, The Outer Worlds is shaping up to be a distinctly Obsidian RPG in all the right ways, with all the chara

How Doom Eternal avoids the reboot’s multiplayer mistakes

id is keen to avoid the same missteps in Doom Eternal's recently announced Battlemode, and it has a clear idea of why the reboot's PvP shootouts didn't work. "Thematically and just from its fundamental design story, it was a little bit of Halo, a little bit Doom, a little bit of Quake, but it was none of what people loved from the campaign," executive producer Marty Stratton told us at E3. "[Doom multiplayer] had no real pacing," said creative director Hugo Martin. "There's no meta, there's no r
