THQ Nordic snaps up Darksiders 3 studio Gunfire Games

Gunfire Games and its 63-strong development team will remain an "independent development studio under THQ Nordic", the publisher said. In addition to Darksiders 3, Gunfire is known for its VR games, which include the excellent third-person action-RPG Chronos. THQ Nordic published Darksiders 3 and acquired the rights to the Darksiders franchise in 2013 when publisher THQ went bankrupt, so the deal isn't a huge shock. Gunfire Games' Adams said: “Having worked together on the development of Darksid

The thread, which announced changes to the way players obtain Legendary skins during the event, attracted comments from individual Respawn developers, including executive producer Drew McCoy. In the course of the discussion, McCoy called players "ass-hats" and "dicks", and lamented toxicity in the community. "I've been in the industry long enough to remember when players weren't complete ass-hats to developers and it was pretty neat. In reply to user who called the devs "money-grabbing fucks", M

An apology post from Apex Legends developer Respawn has devolved into an angry exchange between Respawn staff and members of the Apex Legends community. Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare go too far, or is this a better reflection of war?

After our recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare demo ended, however, that applause was nowhere to be found. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will try to set a new bar in storytelling for the franchise later this year, and the 20-minute presentation proves it’s taking a different approach - one that’s more dramatic and impacting than ever before. While you'd expect it to be all flash and bombast from here on out, Infinity Ward takes things in another direction entirely. But while you'd expect it to be

Mindhunter season 2 review: “Bigger, better, and more complicated”

Mindhunter, then, isn’t playing games with its audience: the heavy stuff is here from the get-go. Thankfully, he's fine, or fine-ish anyway, but it's clear there are going to be issues with Ford that will persist through the season. (Image credit: Netflix)Things are about to get bigger, better, and probably more complicated for Ford's team too, which will no doubt put pressure on Ford's already tumultuous psyche. Some of the intricacies around the OPR investigation and Ford's behaviour are still

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts trailer reveals a November release date

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 suffered from some rather serious technical problems when it came out in 2017, which developer CI Games attributed in part to the game being "too ambitious" for its relatively small team. To address that, it said the next release in the series, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, would ditch Ghost Warrior 3's open-world design in favor of "tailor-made contract missions that offer a clear main objective." A year to the day later, CI has dropped a new trailer showcasing Black G

Apple AirPods get a redesign from original Macintosh team – and they look a bit silly

True wireless earbuds may seem like tech from the future, but have you ever imagined what they might look like in a few years? Frog, the company that designed the iconic Apple Macintosh have, and its conceptual Apple AirPod alternatives are certainly out there, with a radical design that leaves your ears totally exposed. The open-hoop true wireless earbuds – which Frog have called Unum – are placed around your ears, so your ear canal is left completely uncovered, unlike traditional earbuds, whic
