Cadence of Hyrule is the Zelda-powered Crypt of the Necrodancer sequel nobody expected

It's called Cadence of Hyrule, and it's coming to Nintendo Switch this spring. On its website, developer Brace Yourself Games confirmed that Cadence of Hyrule is a full-fat sequel to Crypt of the Necrodancer, not a minor spinoff or DLC as the subtitle "Crypt of the Necrodancer Feat. In an email, Nintendo said the sequel will explore Hyrule while retaining the randomly generated maps and dungeons that Necrodancer is known for. I'm thrilled to see Crypt of the Necrodancer get a sequel of any kind,

Sniper Elite brings two reheats this year, and a full sequel later

Well, this is great news for Sniper Elite fans, and I speak as one: The cult-hit stealth/shooter/period piece is not only getting a Sniper Elite 5, to tide its many friends over until then there are three other projects in the works. That would be a remaster of 2012’s Sniper Elite V2, the launch of 2014’s Sniper Elite 3 on Nintendo Switch (as Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition), and a virtual reality project. “It’s still very early in development,” he said, “but the team here are busy working away

Dead Space co-creator would love to make a new one (it’d still have co-op)

The clamor for a new Dead Space isn't quite Skate 4 level yet, but it's getting there. "Of course it would be Dead Space, that would be one I'd love to do a sequel for someday," he answered. Too much baggage, especially as things went off the rails in the back half of Dead Space 3 (speaking of which, spoilers for a six-year-old game coming up). Let me know when you've stopped recoiling in horror, folks who prefer to pretend Dead Space 3 never existed. So I think Dead Space wouldn't take on a dif

Anodyne 2 and the Wonderputt sequel will debut exclusively on Kartridge

The games are the first of Kongregate's "Premiering on Kartridge" timed exclusives, and will eventually make their way to other platforms; in fact, all but the Wonderputt sequel are already listed on Steam. The exclusivity period will vary from game to game, but a rep said it will typically be 30-45 days. Swords and Souls: Neverseen, a skill-based crafting RPG that expands on the free 2015 browser-based game: Explore an "enormous" map, tame and train pets, acquire powerful relics, and of course

Jack Black Plays Brutal Legend on Jablinski Games YouTube Channel

A couple of months ago, actor, comedian, and musician Jack Black created his own gaming-themed YouTube channel called Jablinski Games. Better yet, the video game he chose to play is Brutal Legend, the Double Fine-developed game that actually stars Jack Black in the main role. In Brutal Legend, Jack Black plays the role of Eddie Riggs, a roadie for a metal band that has to fight off monsters using a variety of unique, music-based weaponry. Brutal Legend fans will likely have fun watching Jack Bla

Hold onto your adrenal glands, because we just found out that The Haunting of Hill House season 2 will, in fact, be a horror anthology series rather than a direct sequel. Super Mario Maker 2’s debut trailer was packed with a ton of new features

Nintendo unveiled a sequel to Super Mario Maker for Switch last week during a jam-packed Nintendo Direct presentation. While the company didn’t say much about the game during that livestream, the debut trailer for Super Mario Maker 2 says a lot. Unfortunately, the trailer also confirms the addition of Super Mario Bros. 3’s Angry Sun, the stuff of nightmares. The Super Mario Maker subreddit has an exhaustive breakdown of everything else in the Switch game’s trailer, from new themes to multicolore
