Watch a minute of gameplay from Human Head’s canceled Prey 2

The story of Prey 2 is long and ugly, ending with a complete cancellation followed by the release of Arkane's totally different game, Prey, in 2017. Arkane's Prey is extremely good, but curiosity about Prey 2 as it was originally envisioned—a spin-off game of outer-space bounty hunting, developed by Human Head—has persisted, because the bits and pieces we've seen of it look really damn cool. Last weekend, Andrew Borman, digital games curator at museumofplay.org, shared a 51-second clip of protot

Get 57 percent off Prey for a very limited time

Prey marks Fanatical's latest daily Star Deal, which run for 24 hours at a time. ), but it's still a deal worth highlighting. Attempting to cater to a variety of play styles is laudable, but also means that Prey isn't as good a stealth game as Dishonored, nor as good a combat game as BioShock. But while the individual parts have problems, Prey is nonetheless greater than the sum of them. Prey is worth playing, mostly thanks to the strength of Talos-I as a setting, and the excellent environment d

Arkane’s latest Prey DLC hint points to a June 10 launch (or reveal) date

Developer Arkane Studios tweeted out a picture, below, featuring its employees each revealing a bloodshot eye and holding up cryptic signs. It features multiple references to the moon, mentions Kosma Corp—a rival of mega-corporation TranStar—and asks "What about Peter?" Perhaps that's a nod to Peter Coleman, a character from Prey that the player discovers dead and disfigured. It also lists the date 06.10.18 at the top, which (if taken in the American date format) is the same date as publisher Be

Prey Twitter hints at an expansion set on the moon

Arkane Studios' immersive sim Prey landed last May and gave us a richly detailed space station to explore. That was the last we heard of it until this Friday, when the Prey Twitter account dropped the surprise tweet above. It's either asking a philosophical question about space travel, or we're headed for the moon. Sounds like the perfect place to set a creepy expansion. And Arkane has precedent here: Dishonored 2's standalone expansion Death of the Outsider came out nearly a year after the game
