Fortnite: Where to Find a Dance Club or Racetrack

Earlier this week a handful of Overtime challenges were released and today the final set has joined the fold. Of the Overtime challenges in Fortnite, most are pretty straightforward. However, there is one that requires players to search ammo boxes or chests at a racetrack or dance club. Luckily for players that might not be super familiar with the Season 7 Fortnite map, the racetrack is visible simply by looking at the overview. The promise of a free Season 8 Battle Pass is hard to pass up and t

Dance can’t be copyrighted, government tells Carlton

Ribeiro has also sued Epic Games, makers of Fortnite, for featuring the dance as an emote in that game. Ribeiro sought copyright registration for ‘The Carlton” and two variations of the dance on Dec. 14, 2018. Ribeiro portrayed the wealthy and obliviously unhip Carlton Banks on Fresh Prince for all of its six seasons. In January, “Orange Shirt Kid’s” mom (Rachel McCumbers) sued Epic on the same grounds (over a dance called “the Random”). The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air airs weekdays on BET and VH1.

Fortnite Carlton dance lawsuit hits copyright speed bump

Alfonso Ribeiro's suit against 2K and Epic Games over the use of his character's dance from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is facing a pretty significant obstacle. The US Copyright Office has refused his copyright registration. Since 'The Carlton' wasn't already copyrighted, Ribeiro and his lawyers first had to register with the US Copyright Office. For copyright purposes, there's a distinction between a dance and a choreographed work, and for a dance to be considered the latter, it needs a sufficient

Epic seeks dismissal of 2 Milly’s Fortnite lawsuit

No one can own a dance step. Epic said the suit should be dismissed because 2 Milly "cannot establish substantial similarity between his alleged work and Fortnite." "The Dance Step is just such an unprotectable idea as Ninth Circuit courts have held in similar situations involving movements, choreography, and poses," Epic wrote. "As the Dance Step is not protectable, there is nothing to compare to Fortnite, and the works necessarily are not substantially similar." These differences are particula

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Starts Celestial Ball Event

report this adHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is known for its frequent in-game events. In this limited time side quest, fourth year students and above will have a chance to participate in the Celestial Ball dance. Oftentimes Hogwarts Mystery players in certain regions will receive earlier access to events and new chapters than other Hogwarts Mystery players, so that could very well be the case here. The Celestial Ball event lets players “date” a friend in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and that

Over 10 million people allegedly watched a Marshmello concert live in Fortnite

Masked dance music DJ, friend of Ninja, and host of his own cooking channel Marshmello played a live concert in Fortnite this weekend. There were holograms, lights, fireworks, and strategically deployed cessations of gravity, which admittedly didn't happen last time I went to see The National. Those who missed the event will get to enjoy a repeat performance at 11pm Pacific Time. After the music ends there's a three-second countdown, and then it's back to battle royale business as usual. You can

How to finish Fortnite’s ‘sundial, oversized coffee, and dog head’ dance challenge

With season seven winding down to a close, one of Fortnite's week nine challenges is of the multi-stage dancing variety. For this challenge, you will need to dance in three unique locations with only a tiny clue given as to where: on a "sundial, oversized cup of coffee, and giant metal dog head." We know exactly where to go. The map down below marks all of the locations. The sundial is found on a small hill southeast of Paradise Palms, the oversized cup of coffee is found at the sign for the din

Forza Horizon 4 drops the Carlton and Floss emotes

Image source: YOISYgamingEpic Games is facing lawsuits over the presence of emotes including the Floss and the Carlton in Fortnite, without credit or compensation going to the people who created or popularized them. And maybe it's coincidence or maybe it's not, but those same dances have now been removed from Forza Horizon 4. But it's the very last entry in the list of smaller changes and fixes in the full patch notes that's of particular interest: "The 'Carlton' and 'Floss' avatar emotes are no

Carlton and Floss dance emotes pulled from Forza Horizon 4

The Carlton and Floss avatar emotes were quietly removed from Forza Horizon 4 in its most recent update. Developer Playground Games didn't explain their removal in the update's patch notes, but it's likely that these emotes were pulled to proactively fend off potential lawsuits like the ones Epic is currently facing for using the Carlton and Floss dances in Fortnite emotes. As Polygon reports, Instagram star Russell Horning - AKA Backpack Kid, the ostensible creator of the Floss dance - is suing
