  • As the game begins, your character, a mop-headed youth in rags, awakens on a balmy shore studded with enormous marble ruins. Wandering along the beach past milling gulls and fretful crabs, you discover an inlet leading to a wooded dell. Arcane secrets await deeper within the island – puzzles built upon perspective, a gigantic winged predator and a mechanism that, seemingly, allows you to change the time of day. • Mass Effect has been defined by its storylines charting the conflict between human and AI. But as players push deeper into the game, its talkative AI SAM is becoming fans’ real bugbear. Worse is when you open your mining radar while driving your Nomad vehicle. But there’s no telling him to stop, and sadly (as yet) no mute button. All players can hope for is that SAM calms down after the game’s next big patch.

  • Mass Effect Andromeda sold fewer physical copies than Mass Effect 3 during its first week on sale in the UK. Mass Effect 3 launched on a Friday, back in March 2012. Physical PC copies (the only kind counted by UK numbers company Chart-Track) counted for 10 per cent of Mass Effect 3 launch sales. For Andromeda, physical PC copies counted for just four per cent. Reviews painted a disappointing picture of Andromeda last week, which may well have impacted sales.

Metro Exodus is bigger than 2033 and Last Light combined

4A Games has said previously that Metro Exodus will be more open than the previous games in the Metro series, but it won't be a completely open world like that of Stalker. For one thing, individual levels in Exodus will be much larger than anything seen in the previous games. The biggest outdoor level in Last Light was roughly "200 meters to 100 meters," Prokhorov said,. That means everything from weapons, attachments, and other loot, to "frozen stories" that reveal more about the game world and

BaByliss 2100 Salon Light hair dryer review

If you can get past its somewhat cheap-looking red design, the BaByliss 2100 Salon Light gives much more expensive rivals a run for their money. It’s rare, when searching for the best hair dryer (or any product for that matter), to find a model that hits such a sweet spot between price and performance as BaByliss’ bright red 2100 Salon Light dryer does. The handle has a slight curve, too, and both give the hair dryer a feminine touch. (Image credit: TechRadar)PerformanceWhat the BaByliss 2100 Sa

There's a lot of new stuff going on in Fortnite Chapter 2 with its big new map at the centerpiece. But players have discovered a likely unintended bug that grants players 2,000 XP each match just for crossing a few bridges. Crossing any of the bridges (or just entering their vicinity) will reward you 2,000 XP for a total of 8,000 XP if you visit all four. You can repeat this process with every match to get a nice little XP farm going. Though be ready for the possibility that widespread knowledge

This fishing sim is just as chill, but less messy, than the real thing

Which is why I decided, rather than brutalise another pike, I would play a bit of The Fisherman: Fishing Planet, a new sim from Bigben Interactive instead. You can try float fishing, spinning, bottom fishing, and even a spot of trolling. (Image credit: Bigben Interactive)The main reason I play simulator games is to relax. But honestly, I'm enjoying just idly fishing for tiny bass on the starting lake with the most basic equipment. The Fisherman seems like a decent sim, although admittedly I've o
