Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for Feb 14

The fractaline grind continues on this week in Destiny 2. Players have made sizable progress as Stage 5 has already been overcome thanks to over 3 billion fractaline donations. The next stage ups the total to 6 billion fractaline, though with a month still left before Season of Dawn comes to a close, the community should have no trouble overcoming Stage 6 and 7. At that point, the final triumph will unlock, giving fans who have completed everything else the long awaited title of Savior.

Bungie continues to tease content within the next season, giving players a look at the upcoming sword overhaul last week and a few community inspired changes yesterday in the weekly update. Previous seasonal restrictions and frustrations are being adjusted including armor affinity being able to be changed for a cost as well as seasonal mods being able to be used on new and old armor from previous seasons. Next month, players will still be able to utilize Undying and Dawn mods if they so choose.

Love is in the air inside of the Crucible for Crimson Days, but many fans are wondering if Destiny 2’s exotic merchant Xur is also bringing some sweet treats for players this weekend. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of February 14, 2020.

Where is Xur?

Exotic hunters can find Xur hanging out on Nessus in his usual spot on the Calus Barge.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher’s Grave. Once loaded in, run forward until the zone opens up. The Golden Barge is floating nearby with Xur hanging out towards the back of the ship near the treasure chests.

Class Armor

Keep in mind that the Armor 2.0 update has caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Starfire Protocol – Warlock chest armor

After last week’s big disappointment, Xur has at least brought something usable this week for Warlocks. Last seen two weeks ago, the Starfire Protocol is focused entirely around fusion grenades. Fusion Harness provides players with 1 extra fusion grenade charge and they also recharge faster when the player makes a kill with an empowered weapon. Fusion grenade kills also recharge the rift ability faster.

While the perks may not sound very exciting, players have found some interesting uses for the armor, especially when it is paired with the Attunement of Grace tree. This support build allows players to use an empowering rift basically letting them have two healing grenades. Plus, the added damage not only recharges the rift but kills made from an empowered weapon also recharge the grenade faster as well. It’s not a must have item this week, but it does have its uses.

The Dragon’s Shadow – Hunter chest armor

Hunter’s can pick up this sub-class neutral exotic this week. The Dragon’s Shadow is directly tied to the Hunter’s dodge mechanic, as its intrinsic perk, Wraithmetal Mail, reloads all weapons and increases movement and weapon handling for a brief time after performing a dodge.

Basically, this armor is a completely solid and useful exotic, though it’s certainly not a must have by any stretch. It can be argued that there are certainly better options out there for Hunters to choose, like the Shards of Galanor, Dragon’s Shadow has some value thanks to the fact that it basically gives players Marksman’s Dodge for free. This essentially lets the user equip the Gambler’s Dodge class ability and gain free weapon reloads and faster melee recharges at the same time.

Mobility +13

Resilience +8

Wormgod Caress – Titan gauntlets

The much maligned and currently disabled Wormgod Caress is somehow available with Xur this week. Bungie took these down recently to fix a problematic bug that helped Titans stack melee buffs that allowed them to hit for massive damage. This comes from the perk Burning Fists which increase melee damage after a melee kill, which continues to get better the more kills the player gets. The effect is supposed to be on a timer, but a glitch allowed players to retain the buff permanently.

It’s really hard to say how these gauntlets are going to turn out once Bungie applies the fix to them. At this point, it’s really hard to recommend them not only due to the incoming nerf but also because the item is unusable at the moment.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +2

Resilience +11

Recovery +11

Discipline +6

Intellect +6

Strength +12

Exotic Weapon

It’s been a very long time since this unique looking shotgun as been available with Xur. The unique perk of the Tractor Cannon is called Repulsor Force and as it sounds, it makes the gun emit a powerful blast that not only pushes enemies away, it also suppresses them and makes them vulnerable to incoming damage, especially void damage. Not only that, by damaging an enemy, the weapon gets a temporary increase to speed and handling.

Players have continued to rave about this weapon, especially within PvP style modes like Gambit and the Crucible. With a larger than normal hitbox, the ability to blast opponents off a stage, and also suppress them, it remains a popular choice.

Additional perks:

Extended Barrel

Particle Repeater

Here’s the complete rundown of Xur’s entire stock in Destiny 2 for February 14, 2020:
