Are January 2020’s PS Plus Games Too Old?

advertisingAs for whether or not this is a worthwhile addition to the PS Plus catalog of games, there is a predictable division of reactions between gamers online. One common critique among the unsatisfied is that January 2020 is simply another month in which PS Plus gets one big title and one "joke" title (referring to December 2019's PS Plus games - Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross The Official Videogame). No one is questioning the greatness of the trilogy collection and its remasters

The biggest Counter-Strike moments of the last decade

The decade in Counter-Strike truly began on August 21, 2012, but the seven years since made up for its late start. And though its future is uncertain, Counter-Strike is in a far better place now than it was 10 years ago. Let's look back on the evolution of Counter-Strike by examining the biggest moments in the series of the past decade. The community was split between the Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source for years, and Valve had given neither game the level of attention and updates

It’s not outlandish to think AMD will launch a 48-core Threadripper 3980X CPU

Will new a new Threadripper 3980X processor be among them? It's possible the developers either have their hands on a 3980X engineering sample, or have been provided information by AMD in anticipation of the CPU's launch. And if so, it will almost definitely wield 48 cores and 96 threads. While I'm fairly confident about the core and thread counts on the 3980X (assuming it exists), pricing is another matter. That may also depend on when exactly AMD sees fit to announce the 3980X.

This LG 27-inch 4K FreeSync monitor is on sale for $269, its lowest price ever

Making the jump to a 4K gaming monitor does not require a trunk full of gold bars. If you are in search of one, check out LG's 27-inch 4K IPS display (model 27UD68-P). That's a fantastic bargain for a 4K gaming monitor, and the lowest price we have see this model sell for. In this case, you're getting a 60Hz refresh rate instead of 144Hz as featured on the Predator XB273K, and no HDR support. Bottom line—this is a really nice 4K monitor for the money, after discount.

Epic Game Store starts 2020 strong with three free games

Epic gave away a new game for free each day at the end of 2019. But in 2020, the studio's own launcher — the Epic Games Store — offers three free games for the platform: Darksiders, Darksiders 2, and Steep. Both Darksiders games on the Epic Games Store come as their definitive editions (Warmastered for Darksiders and Deathinitive for Darksiders 2 — they're bad names, we know), including improved graphics and performance. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises is a camp masterpiece

With that mere observation, my friend Andrew perfectly crystallized the unique and subtle absurdity found within The Dark Knight Rises. After all, The Dark Knight Rises made a billion dollars and has so many tangibly good moments within it. The Dark Knight Rises is a camp masterpieceOf course, not all seriousness that fails can be redeemed as Camp. Whereas The Dark Knight was genuinely interested in the central moral questions and gray areas of its themes, I honestly have no idea what to make of
