In this bizarre ’80s Mario Bros. PC port, Mario throws a ball, badly

Mario wears overalls (this is maybe not a Mario Law, as he wears many non-overall outfits in his latest game, Mario Odyssey). But in 1984, before Super Mario Bros. defined Mario as we know him today, Nintendo apparently wasn't so protective of the Mario Laws, and it handed publisher Hudson the rights to make a Mario Bros. arcade port for the then-popular PC-8801. Why are game install sizes getting so big?

Just WTF is going on with game sizes that we're suddenly jumping from 50GB being a large install to nearly three times that much!? That would quadruple the file sizes, or cut the number of unique textured down to one-fourth as many. Sure, it might result in slightly higher image quality, but the file sizes can be massive (relatively speaking). Anyone familiar with digital images is probably thinking JPEG or PNG files would be better, and as far as file sizes go, they'd be correct. Going with Unr

AirPods Pro vs Apple AirPods: is it worth upgrading to the AirPods Pro?

The Apple AirPods Pro are, without a doubt, a culmination of years' worth of Apple's work in the true wireless earbuds space. Difference #1: The AirPods Pro have noise-cancellationProbably the most noticeable difference is that the AirPods Pro actually use active noise cancellation rather than relying only on passive noise reduction from the eartips. Difference #2: The AirPods Pro are water-resistantIf you're planning on taking your Apple earbuds to the gym, you should probably pick up the more

The retro horror game Faith is coming to Steam with a brand-new chapter

The top-down retro-adventure Faith, we said back in March, is one of the best horror games to come along in recent years. Faith Chapter 2 has a similar setup, with improved pixel art and "memorable sequences including the game's surprisingly violent death animations." Both Faith and Faith Chapter 2 are available through Itch.io, but for the third act developer Airdorf Games is taking the show to Steam. Airdorf said on Twitter that the Steam release will also feature DLC, Twitch integration, and

Epic Games has rolled out an update to its digital storefront that gives users the ability to view trending games, browse by genre or features, see what's on sale, what's been recently updated, and more. It also shared a look at some of the big new features in development, including a wishlist, continued improvements to the library view, and critic reviews on store pages. The Open Critic partnership is interesting because Epic has been very careful about how it handles reviews on store page. Epi

Tempo Storm, the esports organization founded in 2014 by former Hearthstone pro Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk, has signed Chung "blitzchung" Ng Wai to its roster. The team said that, because he will not be eligible to play professional Hearthstone for six months, Blitzchung "expects to increase his streaming presence and will continue to train and represent the brand abroad." Star Wars Battlefront 2 Mod Gives Leia a ‘Different’ Look

Two years after it's release and two weeks ahead of the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which just received a launch trailer, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has received a naked Leia mod that likely should have been released a while ago given the character's appeal to male Star Wars fans. However, modding Star Wars Battlefront 2 had initially been considered very difficult by experienced modders. advertisingAs silly as this might seem, mods like these may be the only content to be added to Sta
