But there's a way to make it even better, essentially bringing Xbox Live subscribers the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate upgrade for 36 months for just $1 / £1. Amazon Alexa stores voice recordings for as long as it likes (and shares them too)

You can delete them, except...Customers can "review, listen to, and delete voice recordings associated with their account using the Voice History feature available in the Alexa app and the Alexa Privacy Hub", according to Amazon's response letter. However, there are recordings Amazon won't delete at all, even if users remove the audio using this feature. As Cnet points out, that means there's a record of "nearly every purchase you make on Amazon's Alexa". "Training Alexa with voice recordings an

AOC launches a pair of fast FreeSync monitors as new GPUs arrive

(Image credit: AOC)AOC just launched two new gaming monitors that pair a fast 240Hz refresh rate with FreeSync support. These are all mid to high-end graphics cards. Likewise, AOC's new monitors are clearly built for fast-action gameplay, with a modest resolution and high refresh rate using TN panels. AOC is also advertising a 0.5ms moving picture response time (MPRT). From my understanding, it doesn't actually represent the panel's actual response time, though some say it's a more accurate meas

PowerColor giveaway teases a likely Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT

I'd also wager that a Red Devil version of the non-XT variant is on tap, as PowerColor has given the Red Devil treatment to both the previous generation Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56. Past Red Devil cards have also featured a stylized metal backplate and an LED display on top. The Radeon RX 5700 XT and 5700 are based on AMD's 7nm Navi GPU architecture. Reference pricing has been set at $449 for the 5700 XT and $379 for the RX 5700, though we will have to wait and see how partner pricing shakes out. I

Daybreak Games DDoS attacker gets two years in prison

A fellow by the name of Austin Thompson will spend a little more than two years in prison for his role in DDoS attacks against multiple companies in 2013-14, including MMO operator Sony Online Entertainment, now known as Daybreak Game Company. Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge of "Damage to a Protected Computer" in November 2018, and was handed his sentence yesterday. Its effectiveness lies in its simplicity, and in fact it can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between a DDoS att

Deleted tweet suggests Auto Chess alpha test could begin very soon

But a third contender, from the team that started the whole thing with the mega-popular Dota Auto Chess mod, looks like it will soon enter the fray too. (It is still working with Valve on a mobile version of Auto Chess for China, though.) The Auto Chess page on the Epic Store contains a link to sign up for the alpha test, which according to publisher Dragonest is "coming soon." That tweet, asking "How excited are you for the Auto Chess Alpha Launch this week?" So for now, sign up for the Auto Ch

Jedi: Fallen Order’s lightsaber will be more vibrant following E3 criticism

I didn't notice anything wrong with Jedi: Fallen Order's lightsaber—apart from its inability to cut things in two—but apparently I wasn't looking hard enough. The lightsaber was missing the bright white core lightsabers usually have, and was instead more of a solid blue, according to the critics. You can see that version of the lightsaber in the EA Play gameplay video above. We've tweaked that, and we've also tweaked the shape of the lightsaber blade a little. Getting phaser beams wrong in a Sta
