Destiny 2 Adds Catalysts for Year 2 Exotics

Destiny 2 players were able to chase catalysts during Year 1 as they awaited may of the game-changing updates that came with the Forsaken expansion. But since the launch of Forsaken and the start of Year 2, catalysts (some of which needed to be earned with others dropping from specific activities) have been largely absent. It looks like that will soon change, however, with Destiny 2‘s latest update on May 7, 2019, adding several catalysts to the game’s database, which was datamined by fans.

The list of Year 2 catalysts comes via user Eander on Reddit, a developer on the Destiny 2 database site light.gg. While these catalysts do exist within the game’s database, even Eander says that the stats attached to nine of them specifically are “super classified” and these stat boosts should be “taken with a grain of salt.”

These nine Destiny 2 Year 2 exotics with stat information listed within the database are:

Cerberus +1: Stability +20, Reload Speed +20

Malfeasance: Range +20

Trinity Ghoul: Charge Time +20

Lord of Wolves: Magazine +40

Wavesplitter: Range +10, Ammo Capacity +30

One Thousand Voices: Stability +30, Ammo Capacity +20

The Queenbreaker: Range +20, Aim Assistance +20

Two-Tailed Fox: Reload Speed +30, Weapon Size +10

Black Talon: Magazine +40

These other exotics also have catalysts in the database but there are currently no stats attached to them:

Wish-Ender

Ace of Spades

The Last Word

Thorn

Arbalest

The Chaperone

Izanagi’s Burden

Le Monarque

Jotunn

Anarchy

Thunderlord

There is no way to tell when these catalysts may finally make their way to the game. They could have been added to for an eventual release during Destiny 2‘s Season 7: Season of Opulence, which starts early June 2019. Or, it may be the case that fans could start running across them in-game by completing specific tasks, or by finding them randomly by completing activities. However, at this time, there are no reports from players that they have found any.

This is the second, somewhat lesser discovery Destiny 2 players have made today after a new quest was found. The new quest rewards the Outbreak Perfected exotic pulse rifle, a Destiny 2 version of Destiny 1‘s Outbreak Prime exotic.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
