Here’s how loot trading will work in WoW Classic

Originally, World of Warcraft didn't have loot trading. But last year, when Blizzard discussed WoW Classic at Blizzcon, they explained that loot trading was one of the features it would have at launch. In response, Blizzard community manager Kaivax posted to the Blizzard forum to explain the limits on how it will work as, "we've decided that the two-hour loot trading system in WoW Classic will only apply to soulbound gear that drops in raids. Soulbound loot that drops in five-person content will

Pigs vs. rabbits strategy game S.W.I.N.E. is being remastered

The original version of S.W.I.N.E., a real-time strategy game about pigs and rabbits going to war in tanks, came out back in 2001. (The title stands for "Strategic Warfare In a Nifty Environment", btw.) A remastered version called S.W.I.N.E HD is due later this year from Kite Games, with some of the original developers working on it, and the publishing rights have been acquired by Assemble Entertainment. I have to admit I didn't play the original, but I did play a fair bit of Hogs of War and now

Caveblazers Together mod adds online co-op

You may remember Vadim from Nuclear Throne Together, which added an online mode to Vlambeer's twin-stick shooter, as well as similar mods for Spelunky, Wasteland Kings, and other games. Now he's done the same for Caveblazers, adding online co-op to the 2D roguelike platformer. Vadim has written a blog post about the process of creating the Caveblazers Together mod if you're interested in a look behind the scenes. Vadim says that he'll keep the mod updated, and may add achievements in the future—

Cheaper Nintendo Switch and ‘Premium’ Model Releasing This Year

The Nintendo Switch Pro will not be as powerful as the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, but it will offer a premium, enhanced experience. Moreover, the Nintendo Switch Premium is said to sport a design that will “surprise” gamers, which suggests that is more than just a 4K Nintendo Switch. Perhaps the quality of the screen is higher or its design is markedly different from the Nintendo Switch we know currently – anything is possible. For the cheaper Nintendo Switch model, the company is said to be looking

What did you play last week?

Not everybody's in love with the number of minibosses in it, but Tom Senior's played Sekiro the most and his impressions are pretty positive so far. Samuel Roberts reviewed The Division 2 and played it for so many hours I'm not sure if he's been sleeping. Chris Livingston played Espire1: VR Operative, a stealth game where you control an espionage cyborg working for the Australian government. As an Australian I'm pretty sure we don't have those, although knowing us things would probably go as bad

Five new Steam games you probably missed (March 25, 2019)

On an average day, about a dozen new games are released on Steam. It's in Early Access but only for around 6-8 months. The graphics are charmingly chunky, and there are over 60 different weapons and even more enemy types (though in this Early Access build it's closer to around 30). It's a smart use of VR tech and, frankly, it's surprising that more RTS games don't boast this kind of support. It's in Early Access for up to a year.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has only been out a matter of days, but modders are already playing with its innards. One of them has found a way to unlock the framerate, letting you run it at more than 60 fps—provided you have a powerful enough rig. The mod, posted on the Widescreen Gaming Forum by user jackfuste, is still being tested and might cause bugs, but it's letting some players run the game at more than 100 fps. To get it to work, you'll need to download the mod from the link above, unpack S
