As many gamers will likely agree, the forthcoming remake of the 1998 survival-horror classic, Resident Evil 2, is easily one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2019, especially since its launch is set to occur in just a little more than a couple of weeks from now. With this being the case, there’s no doubt plenty of fans will be looking to make room for the title on their hard drives, and Capcom has now given PC players an idea of just how much space that will be.

According to the official Steam page for the Resident Evil 2 remake, those planning on playing the title on PC will need to have at least 26 GB of available storage space set aside in order to install and run it in on their rigs. This is a relatively small file size when compared to other contemporary AAA games, with recently released titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 needing roughly 50 GB and 55 GB on PC, respectively.

Fans looking to give Resident Evil 2 a go before committing to purchase will be able to do so soon, as Capcom recently announced that the remake will receive a “One-Shot” demo on PC, and it will also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, too. That said, though, it must be noted that players who take on the trial will only have a total of 30 minutes to explore the Raccoon City Police Department as Leon S. Kennedy before being locked out of its content. Those who play through until time is up will be privy to an exclusive new trailer for the game.

Taking everything here into consideration, it will be interesting to see how the sales figures for each of the different iterations for Resident Evil 2 stack up, and which platform will wind up hosting the most players of the survival-horror title. While the PC will obviously provide fans with the most optimized version of the game, there’s a good chance that the PS4 will still sell the most copies, especially with Sony having recently revealed that the console has sold more than 91 million units to date.

Resident Evil 2 is set to launch on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
