After Destiny 2 players complete the second part of the Mysterious Box quest that requires them to get the Black Armory Key and finally open the Mysterious Box after weeks of earning keys, the third and final step of the quest that ultimately leads to the exotic sniper rifle Izanagi’s Burden begins. But many players may run into a hiccup right away, as they need to complete a Rare Black Armory bounty.

While some wise players have been holding onto completed Rare Black Armory bounties in order to quickly complete this step, many Destiny 2 players will be without one. After players open the Mysterious Box, get A Mysterious Decryption Device and turn it in for an Unidentified Frame from Ada-1, the first requirement will be to collect an Obsidian Crystal, which will come from completing a Rare Black Armory bounty.

Players might get stumped here because there is no way to pick up a Rare Black Armory bounty from Ada-1. So how exactly does one find a Rare Black Armory bounty? The answer to that is by turning in the daily or weekly Black Armory bounties that are available for pickup from Ada-1. However, it is a random drop when completing the bounties (similar to the game’s Scrapper bounties), so there’s no guarantee that one will drop even once per day.

There’s a common theory that turning in multiple daily Black Armory bounties at once increases the chances of a Rare bounty to drop, so players may want to complete all the daily Black Armory bounties in their inventory and then claim them in quick succession in case that hypothesis does prove to be true.

Unfortunately, if a player’s RNG is bad and a Rare bounty doesn’t drop after completing all the daily bounties, this step could potentially stall them for a couple of days until they can receive one. To make matters worse, a later step in the quest requires completing the Shattered Throne dungeon, so this week is ideal for getting everything done. Players who aren’t anywhere close to this step of the quest but may still be reading this, it’s a good idea to save one Rare Black Armory bounty and keep it in their inventory so when they get to this part of the quest it will be ready to turn in.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
