Anthem CES 2019 Trailer, PC System Requirements Revealed

2019’s Consumer Electronics Show keynotes began Sunday with Nvidia’s event taking the spotlight. BioWare made the most of the opportunity by debuting the latest trailer for its upcoming online multiplayer game, Anthem, during the keynote. The relatively short Anthem trailer features a look at some new enemies and environments, but its best quality is that it’s available in 4K resolution and is played at what must be maximum settings on the PC.

In the trailer, Anthem‘s Javelin suits, with their multiple flaring jet back boosters, are shown in incredible detail as they fly through ruins, waterfalls, and the open sky. Owners of 2000-series Nvidia graphics cards will be pleased to hear that this level of quality will be achieved with relative ease, as BioWare announced during the show that Anthem will support Nvidia’s DLSS technology.

Beyond the DLSS announcement, there’s a good amount of new content within the trailer for all Anthem fans. The trailer features two new enemies, a large spider-like mobile robot turret that fires several rockets, and a shielded gorilla that looks rather like Winston from Overwatch. There’s also a new biome, a lush area filled with giant mushrooms, as well as a new gold and white customization for the Infiltrator Javelin.

Alongside the new trailer, BioWare is also revealed Anthem‘s PC system requirements. While the CES 2019 trailer showcases what Anthem could look like with an extremely power PC, don’t doubt that the game will still look fine at lower specifications. BioWare’s said before that Anthem on PC will be no simple port, and it looks like it’s going to require some decent specifications as a result.

Minimum System Requirements OS: 64-bit Windows 10 CPU: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350 RAM: 8 GB System Memory GPU: NVIDIA GTX 760, AMD Radeon 7970 / R9280X GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory HARD DRIVE: At least 50 GB of free space DIRECTX: DirectX 11

Recommended System Requirements OS: 64-bit Windows 10 CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5 GHz RAM: 16 GB System Memory GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060/ RTX 2060, AMD RX 480 GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory HARD DRIVE: At least 50 GB of free space DIRECTX: DirectX 11

Of course, a persistent Internet connection will be required to play Anthem, as it’s an always-online multiplayer game. Anthem will also support Xbox One wireless controllers on PC, for those that would prefer a controller to a mouse and keyboard.

For those interested in experiencing Anthem on PC themselves before making a final decision on purchasing the game, BioWare has an option. Anthem will have a freely available demo that releases on February 1, offering a limited portion of the game. Not to mention, it will also let PC players see whether their hardware is up to expectations, too.

Anthem releases on February 22, 2019 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
