Lucasfilm is almost done deciding what Star Wars movie to make for 2020

Lucasfilm is very close to making its final decision on what Star Wars movie will come to theaters in 2020. The confirmed slate currently ends with Star Wars 9 in 2019, but Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Vanity Fair that the company will make its final decision soon. Star Wars 9 will conclude the new trilogy, so it's safe to assume that the 2020 movie will be another "Star Wars Story" like Rogue One and the Han Solo movie (which is scheduled to be released in 2018). Star Wars 2020 cou

Han Solo movie channels Fast and The Furious in new leaked speeder racing video

No, it’s not Top Gun 2 (though that’s definitely a thing now), it’s part deux of Han Solo in a speeder for the Han Solo movie. He’s going much faster than the last time we saw him and, hey look, there’s even a drone and another vehicle chasing him in the latest video. That’s probably there for a few really cool shots of Han escaping/racing/going for a leisurely drive. We know next to nothing about her role so here’s hoping we find out something, anything, about what she’s doing in the Han Solo m

Star Wars Episode 9 to begin filming in January 2018

The Last Jedi is still just over half a year away from hitting theaters, but it looks like Disney is all set to begin filming Episode 9 not long after Episode 8 is released. A new cover story on The Last Jedi by Vanity Fair reveals that Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy finale will begin production in January 2018. Episode 9 was set to have Carrie Fisher's General Leia take on the lead mentor role, similar to Han Solo in Episode 7 and (presumably) Luke Skywalker in Episode 8. Star Wars: Episode 8: The L

Star Wars: A New Hope could have been a disaster – here’s how it was saved

The Star WarsThe best way of seeing exactly how weird and different A New Hope could have been is by seeking out The Star Wars comics. Chewbacca’s initial design was more bug-eyed and batlike - a concept later used for Zeb from Star Wars Rebels. It’s a great pub fact for the next time you need to force a link between Star Wars and Top Gun. Star Wars 9 had big plans for Leia, and Lucasfilm is still trying to figure out how to rework the script

Carrie Fisher's role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi hasn't changed in light of her death, but the actress' unfortunate passing has thrown plans for Star Wars 9 for a loop. This means that the Star Wars 9 script has required significant revision, to the point of, as Vanity Fair describes it, "reconceiving" the film. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, remarked that Fisher seemed to really enjoy her role in The Last Jedi. Rian found such a wonderful way of working with her, and I think she really rel

Star Wars: The Last Jedi sees Luke’s lightsaber change hands: it’s now officially Rey’s

One lightsaber, though that has been ever-present in the Star Wars saga, from Anakin, to Luke, to catalyst for that vision in Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially has a new owner in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Rey. The Star Wars Show mentioned this small, but significant, detail from the Vanity Fair reveal in their latest video (skip to 3:00). I mean, he probably called space dibs on it a while back even though he made a new one in Return of the Jedi. Also: we’ll definitely be getting Rey as a

Rey’s lightsaber in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is hers, but comes with interesting lineage

After Rey picked up Luke Skywalker’s blue lightsaber in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and delivered it to him on the planet of Ahch-To, fans were abuzz with questions about what this could mean for Rey’s lineage. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, StoryGroup executive editor Pablo Hidalgo said Lucasfilm doesn’t consider the lightsaber Luke’s anymore, nor do they consider it Anakin Sykwalker’s, even though they both used it. Hidalgo said that Rey is a rare exception to the rule because the light
